I’m reaching out for help as I prepare for eye surgery to restore my vision. Since February 2026, my vision has been declining, and this surgery is an important step toward healing and getting my life back on track. At the same time, my medical condition has contributed to me not currently having a place to live. I’m 61 years old, and the thought of slowly losing my eyesight honestly scares me. Most of my life, I have made my living as a comic book artist, and creating art has been more than just work for me. It has been the way I have supported myself and connected with others through something I love doing.

I am also dealing with kidney issues and a weak heart, and the truth is that I do not know how much longer I have left. That makes this moment feel even heavier. The funds from this fundraiser will help cover a one-week hotel stay near the hospital so I can heal properly and make it to my follow-up eye checkups without the added stress of travel or unstable lodging. I do not have family nearby or close friends who can help, so I am mostly alone in this and trying to get through it the best I can. Having a nearby place to stay would make a huge difference during recovery and give me the best chance to rest, heal, and hopefully get back to work. I still want to keep creating artwork for fans for as long as I can.
