Help Tim Get to Internship at Surfing The Nations
Recently I was pitched an idea from an old friend.
Embark on a new adventure to Oahu, Hawaii with a non-profit humanitarian organization called Surfing The Nations. I initially said no. I have a wonderful job as a youth pastor at my home church and I am surrounded by people who love and care about me. Why would I leave? One of my mentors asked me why I wouldn't go. I told him I was afraid.
He said, "Maybe an adventure is in order."
This statement reawakened a call inside of me that I have not felt since 2011 when I decided to go on my first mission trip. 10 years of saying no to the call to go because of fear. I got a sensation that felt like, me again. The blessing to be a part of what God is doing in a different community and culture. I was given a choice. Continue to live a safe life or take a risk, answer the call, and go. I have decided to go.
This Fall I have been blessed with the amazing opportunity to travel to Oahu, Hawaii for 3 months to attend Surfing The Nations Internship Program. I will be helping with local outreaches like Ulu Pono At-Risk Youth Program, Feeding the Hungry food distribution, and much more. I am excited about this new adventure and ready for what is next!
Would you partner with me and be a part of the wonderful story God is writing in Hawaii by donating to help cover the cost of the internship fees, my flights, room and board, and any other expenses along the way. Anything helps!
