Help Tim get his life back

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Brenden. Tim & I are close friends and have been for over 20 years. Right now he needs help from all of us as quickly as possible.

I kept telling Tim he needed to set up a campaign to raise money for treatments, bills etc.
He never did for a number of reasons (failed medical system in the U.S., people walking out of his life, his pride, list can go on). So, I have taken it upon myself to set up a fund raising campaign for him. Please note that ALL funding will go directly to Tim (NOT ME). I set up everything so all of the money raised will be transferred into HIS account.

Please be patient and read the entire story below on how Tims life was dramatically changed for the worse five years ago.

July 11th 2014 is a day that Tim will never forget. On the evening of he was taking a shower at home and the floor suddenly collapsed beneath him. During the fall he landed on his left arm. Unfortunately, that fall caused numerous nerves throughout his left arm to become crushed. After weeks upon weeks of physical therapy his arm continued to become worse. The swelling became uncontrollable and his hand was turning dark purple. At this point Tim had already seen several doctors but none of them knew what was causing this. Months later he finally seen a doctor that knew right away what it was. In that moment he was forever changed not only physically but mentally as well. Tim had been diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) and was informed that there is no cure for it. Sadly, CRPS is medically classified as the most painful condition a person can have. The McGill pain index rates CRPS at 45-48 out of 50. It's known to be more painful than amputation without surgery or natural childbirth without anything to help the pain. CRPS is also classified as a nerve disease because it can spread to other parts of the body including internal organs. The pain it causes is a severely debilitating burning. Tim has described his good days of feeling like having a horrific sunburn and being rubbed with sandpaper. He doesn't describe his bad days other than "I don't want to be alive anymore". My heart breaks knowing there isn't anything I can do to help relieve him of this horrible pain he faces every single day of his life.

I whole heartedly believe that Tim only holds on and keeps fighting because of his wife. They have been married for nearly 15 years and love each other very much. I personally have so much respect and admiration for his wife. She helps so much with making doctor appointments, fighting the medical insurance company, helping Tim with anything she can, etc.

A lot of you know Tim and many of you don't. If you don't know him then you are missing out on having a great friend. He is one of those people that would help anyone if he could. Before getting CRPS Tim was a mechanic and built / restored offroad motorcycles (motocross). It became one of his passions at an early age. I say "one" of his passions because he was always very passionate about everything he did (building motorcycles, racing R/C cars, custom car audio, automotive body & paint, list goes on). Yes, he is an extremely talented person. Not only is Tim extremely talented but was a very giving & thoughtful person. He helped many kids with their racing programs and would rebuild their motorcycles for free. He traveled with the kids and their families across the nation for races just so they would have a mechanic & trainer on site with them. Tim was the guy everyone called when they needed an engine rebuilt within 48hrs because they knew he would somehow make it happen.

Confusing and heartbreaking for Tim is when all of those people he helped for years just walked out of his life when he got CRPS. In truthfull words, all of those people left because they were no longer benefiting from Tims giving nature. Even though many people walked out on him he still talks about how much he misses being at the races at helping kids.

Well, with your help we can turn what Tim misses back into something he can actually start doing again. Even though there isn't a cure for CRPS remission is a possibility. Tim has pretty much lost faith in the medical system here in the U.S. because doctors do not study CRPS enough. Therefore the doctors don't have a good understanding on how to obtain remission for their patients. Tim has had every procedure done that is allowed by the FDA. Sadly, none of them helped and one of the procedures caused the CRPS to worsen and start spreading. Tim now has full body CRPS including inside his mouth and throat area. He can barely eat mashed potatoes or oatmeal because everything he eats feels like he is swallowing sand with gas (his described words). All of the doctors just try to pressure him into doing procedures that do not work or give him pain meds. He doesn't want either of them, he wants a doctor who will listen to him and help provide remission.

This is where you can help. Many people with CRPS now have remission thanks to doctors & medical groups overseas. Those doctors and groups are not bound to restrictions like we face here in the United States. There are several procedures done overseas (mostly using natural elements) that is helping people on a daily basis. That is the very reason why I started this campaign. I'm doing my best to raise money so that Tim can travel overseas and get the proper treatment that he desperately needs.

I set the fund raising goal for $10,000 because that is pretty much the bare minimum he needs to help get his life back on track. Beyond getting the proper treatment for the CRPS he still needs serious dental surgery (all new implants). The CRPS has caused so many dental problems for him. I'm not asking for money to help with that although it would be a miracle if the donations went far above the goal. That would help him obtain remission, receive the much needed dental surgery, help pay the massive amount of medical bills he has, etc.

It is extremely frustrating to see a close friend suffer but its even more frustrating knowing the doctors and medical insurance companies don't care or help.

Again, with your help Tim has a very good chance of becoming the caring, loving and giving person he once was before July 11th 2014.

Tim recently told me that if he ever had the opportunity to get the right treatment and remission he would be on a new mission in life. He calls it "mission to remission". He wants to mentor others that suffer from CRPS and help find ways for them to live a little more comfortable.

On behalf of Tim, his wife and myself I want to thank everyone that is helping him get his life back on track again.
