Help Tim Get Back to Helping Others!

Tim Pace is a man who loves others with all his heart.

Tim is one of a kind: he was born with only one full hemisphere of his brain, the other is the largest arachnoid cyst Mayo Clinic has ever seen. He is literally a walking miracle! Until he was in his 20's, there was no indication he was under such a bizarre and unique health condition.

Early in his 20's, Tim suddenly started having symptoms that took him to the ER where his abnormality was discovered. Since then, Mayo Clinic has faithfully cared for him through three brain surgeries and multiple treatments over the years.

Right before Thanksgiving, Tim began to experience severe symptoms that have left him unable to function. After a lot of tests and scans, the decision from his neurosurgeon is that the valve in his shunt has likely malfunctioned and he will be going in for surgery on January 22.

As Tim had CAT scans to check the shunt, doctors noted that he has an abnormality in his left lung. Concerned, the doctors ordered a PET scan. The results seem to indicate the early stages of lung cancer.

The team at Mayo are planning to do a biopsy of the nodule in his lung after he has gone through and recovered from his brain surgery. The PET scan seemed to indicate lung cancer, but the biopsy will provide more information and help guide the next steps in his treatment.

We are so grateful for the continual support of the community as Tim has been struggling to function since November, 2023. It was certainly hard to get the news that he now faces another challenge, especially the potential of lung cancer, but we have hope. We know God continues to guide Tim's journey and we rest in the fact that He knows better than we do.

If you feel called to contribute to helping get Tim the treatments he needs, it would mean so much to our whole family: Timmer, Jenita, Carter and Matthew.
We aren't yet sure what the lung treatments will consist of so our needs might change as we begin with this new medical concern, but we are hopeful to have Timmer back to himself soon.

If you know Tim, I am sure you are not surprised that he is anxious to get back to doing what he loves: which is taking care of other people. His true passion is his work as a pastor: he so enjoys that his job is to care for others like Jesus does. Tim's one wish is to getting back to serving his church and the greater community (By the way, he chose the title of his Go Fund Me)!

We would appreciate prayer; prayer for stamina, strength, supernatural peace, and even joy in the midst of this tough time. I know everyone wants Tim back, most of all those who love his humor, positive attitude, contagious smile, and genuine concern for anyone he meets. Tim doesn't know a stranger- if you get within two feet of him, he's coming to meet you and wants to know your story.

We wait to see what Tim's story will be. You can be part of it.

Love and Appreciation,
Jenita

(Tim wants me to add that he can't wait to bear hug everyone he misses during this time. Good grief, that is going to be a lot of people. Be ready!)
