Timothy Townsend has worked for Durham Public schools child nutrition services for 13 years and has never missed a day of work, because he loves his job, knows the students depend on him, and he can’t afford to. Hurricane Chantal destroyed Timothy’s roof, leaking into his house, destroying all his clothes, shoes and more. When the power was out for two days, he lost all of his food in the fridge and freezer. He spent his savings repairing the roof, and now he is behind on rent, and the utilities company is close to shutting off his lights and power. His car battery is giving out, and the engine light is on. When it rains, it pours, and Timothy, a beloved cafeteria manager, needs our help. Because it’s summer, his last paycheck was June 19th, and he won’t be getting another one until the end of August.

This money would tide him over until then, and help him get back on his feet with rent, energy, food, and reliable transportation.
