My name is Amalia "Molly" Leal-Curl and I am raising medical and living expense funds for my husband, Tim "TC" Curl, who is suffering from a rare form of leukemia "MPAL" - Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia.

In July 2024, my loving husband, Tim “TC” Curl, was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia: Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia (MPAL) that is comprised of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

For those who know TC, he has always been willing to help when asked and does so with a positive attitude regardless of circumstance. This disease has shaken our lives to the core, but TC is determined to battle this illness with courage, strength, and kindness of heart.

The diagnosis itself is devastating and is compounded by staggering financial burdens related to current and future medical treatments, living, and related expenses. At the time TC’s symptoms overcame his ability to function, we had just relocated from Conroe, TX to a small rental home in Corpus Christi to be near projects that generate income for our consulting business as we are self-employed. We had not yet unpacked. Due to the disease and long recovery, TC may no longer be able to work.

We were blessed to be transferred to MD Anderson in Houston where TC has been receiving aggressive chemo treatments. The next step will be a treatment the doctors call “The Sledgehammer” to eradicate the leukemia cells. If that is successful, TC would then need a bone marrow transplant. Since he has no familial matches, MD Anderson is urgently seeking an unknown matched donor. TC is required to remain close to the hospital for the next 100+ days while treatments continue.

Our current financial needs are dire. Temporary housing is required immediately for a minimum of four (4) months or longer and we are exhausting the ability to pay medical, living, and related expenses.
