Help Tim Breathe With A Stem Cell Transplant
Donation protected
Tim's year started off with a motor vehicle accident leaving him in need of an eye surgery to replace his cataract lens and take pressure off of his retina. While waiting in Indonesia to have eye surgery in February and early March in Jakarta, Tim got bronchitis and pneumonia and ended up at the hospital.
On March 7, the day before the surgery, a chest x-ray showed that the growing difficulty with breathing while walking and exercising Tim had experienced over the last 18 months along with his present severe cough and lung problems actually came from pulmonary fibrosis and not asthma or pneumonia. With the mortality rate for pulmonary fibrosis higher than it is for lung cancer (which claimed Tim's sister, Carol's life in 2018) and having been told by his Jakarta pulmonologist that he should go home and get his affairs in order due to the short life expectancy now of 2.5 – 4.5 years,
Tim set out to find not just a treatment to extend life or prolong death, but rather to find a cure. The only know cure for pulmonary fibrosis is an expensive human umbilical cord stem cell transplant. This kind of a stem cell transplant has the ability to regenerate the diseased lung and allow Tim to breathe, talk, teach, sing and play trumpet normally again. Tim located a stem cell transplant hospital in Bangkok, Thailand with extensive successful experience in treating pulmonary fibrosis with human umbilical cord stem cell transplantation. The hospital in Bangkok can supply the stem cells from their bank, but at a much higher cost than if a stem cell donor could be found. Tim prayed for a miracle and then called his closest friend in Thailand. Within FIVE minutes, Tim's Thai friend had spoken to a relative from Eastern Thailand who was willing to go to Bangkok and be a stem cell donor for Tim this month. Her baby is due on April 18, and as long as she has no blood problems and as long as the baby does not come between April 12-18 when the stem cell center is closed for a yearly festival, then Ms. Amonrat will be able to give Tim enough stem cells for 5 treatments. The estimated amount of treatments for most pulmonary fibrosis patients is 1-2.
The cost for this procedure and covering all of Ms. Amonrat's expenses totals approximately 33,000 USD. There are additional travel and hotel expenses for her family and for Tim that bring the total need to 36,000 USD. 6000 USD has already been raised privately, so we are hoping tot raise 30,000 to cover the remaining need. Because Ms. Amonrat has less than 2 weeks until her due date and she thinks the baby might come early, we are facing an immediate need of at least 20,000 USD to be raised over the next three days!
God has done miracles with miraculous provision for Tim's past cancer, heart and eye surgeries so we are looking to Him for another miracle to allow the safe and healthy delivery of Ms. Amonrat's baby boy at a time that will allow for the collection of the stem cells and a stem cell transplant for Tim 30 days later. If for reason of blood problem or untimely delivery then we would need to raise 40,000 USD for one treatment from the center's stem cell bank. Would you pray for Tim and for Ms. Amonrat and for miraculous provision in a short time to give Tim the gift of a longer life expectancy than he is currently facing. Thank you and God Bless You!
