Help Tim after his liver transplant.

Donation protected
We are raising funds to help pay for medical bills, loss of income, and the unseen expenses after having a liver transplant. My husband, Tim, was diagnosed with fatty liver in 2000. Although this disease is not debilitating, it has dramatically affected every aspect of our lives. My two children, Henry (10)and Hannah (5), don’t know life with a healthy father. No matter what was done, and with the lifestyle changes, the liver enzymes never were able to normalize. In 2009, Tim experienced massive fatigue and went to the doctor to figure out what was happening. We did not think that it was the liver. The Platelet level went through the floor, pointing to cancer. With all the tests and doctors visits, it was determined that he had late-stage liver cirrhosis as of 2013. Since then, Tim has managed with Diabetes II and preserving with more lifestyle changes. In 2021, Tim was further diagnosed with a regenerative node that was growing in the liver. This turned out to present itself as cancer. So it was removed (ablated) and no biopsy was taken. At this point, we knew it was going to be hard to get on the liver transplant list. We changed doctors and miraculously, we found a great team to help us through all that was about to come. Praise be to God, we were able to get Tim on the list for a transplant! Although he was healthy enough to wait, we were all worried about the return of the cancer and Tim getting even more sick. On July 25th, 2022, we had our meeting with the Hepatologist and were told that our appeal to get higher up on the transplant list was denied. But yet, Tim would still remain on the list! So we were told it would take years to receive a donor and not to expect anything sooner. We remained prayerful hoping a miracle would change the circumstances and we would be graced with time to create some kind of action plan for a possible transplant procedure. Surprise!! God had other plans!! No more than 48 hours after our meeting with the Hepatologist, we were offered a transplant from a soul that was killed in a car crash. It was a healthy young man that we will eternally be grateful for! By God’s grace, July 28th the transplant was complete! Since the operation, Tim, has been admitted to the hospital for multiple night stays to get the rejection levels at an acceptable level. But we remained mindful that if the rejection level gets out of hand, we would be on that list again looking for another liver! So it is with humble hearts and humility that we ask for your assistance both spiritually and financially to further help Tim’s recovery journey. Your generosity will also help support our family members who have had to travel to Texas from California and Nevada to help with the overall healing process. Although insurance is a blessing, it is a tremendous challenge and burden on our family because not every cost is covered. Thank you so much for taking time to learn about our current situation. Every little generous act is greatly appreciated. With your contribution we will be able to get healthy and back to a life spent with friends and family.
