I recently rescued the sweetest little gal from a family I worked with. The family was doing their best to care for her, but ultimately they could not continue. She started off living on the streets, had recently had puppies, and was in a state of severe emaciation. The day I met her, she was trembling, but even in such rough shape, she crawled into my lap. I knew I couldn’t walk away from her, so here we are—doing everything we can to help her heal.
I’ve named her Tilly, after the street I grew up on in Connecticut—Matilda Lane. She’s estimated to be between 1 and 3 years old and has already been through so much. Since bringing her home, I’ve had to rush her to urgent care because she’s dangerously underweight and suffering from terrible diarrhea. She’s needed a parvo test (thankfully negative), blood work, IV fluids, a fecal test for parasites, flea treatment, and anti-nausea medication. I’ve been feeding her home-cooked chicken and rice, but she’s still struggling to keep food down. The vet bills are already adding up, and she’ll need more treatment, spaying, and possibly dental care in the future.
If you’re able to help, your support would mean the world to both of us. Every donation will go directly to Tilly’s medical expenses and recovery. She deserves a second chance at a happy, healthy life, and I’m so grateful for any help you can give. Thank you for being part of her journey. Your support would mean the world to my family.
