Hi everyone, my name is Carlos and I am raising money for my one of my best friends dog’s who has had many recent scares with Congestive Heart Failure.

Tilikum “Tili” is an adorable 12 year old Shih Tzu and lives with her mom Ana, a dedicated child mental health therapist.

Since 2026, Tili has been diagnosed with a small chordae tendineae rupture (tearing of the fibrous cords that connect the mitral valve leaflets to the heart muscles) and congestive heart failure. Tili has been hospitalized overnight twice, taken many x-rays and echocardiograms, required supplemental oxygen, and started on several different medications. Tili is currently getting great care and appears to be doing okay since her most recent hospitalization on March 25, 2026.

Overall the vet bills in the past 3 months have exceeded $10,000 which has led to significant financial hardship. To keep her healthy we need support so we can continue to provide care and not have to worry that finances may impact a future decision about another hospitalization. As her medication regimen is tailored to her needs, her hospitalizations should become less frequent. However, we heard so many stories of dog owners who had to put their dogs and puppies down because they could not afford emergency services and/or hospitalizations. We want to make sure that we make healthcare decisions for her based on her health needs and not whether we can afford more care.
