Help Tiki Keep Greeting Us at the Door ❤

Tiki does not deserve this.

When we adopted her from a local rescue, she had already endured more than any dog should. She had been surrendered by a family who did not care for her properly. She was abused. Neglected. Forgotten.

When we brought her home, she weighed just 37 pounds. You could feel every rib. Her coat was pale and brittle, like straw that had lost its shine. She was unsure and cautious of everything around her, constantly scanning her surroundings, trying to decide if she was safe.
We promised her she was.

And slowly, she began to believe us.

With good food, patience, consistency, and love, Tiki transformed. Her body filled out. Her coat grew soft and vibrant. The guarded look in her eyes softened. The cautious steps turned into confident ones. She learned what it meant to exhale. ✨

And when she finally felt safe, her true personality exploded into the most joyful, loving soul.

Tiki is the definition of happy-go-lucky. She adores her toys, we call them her “babies,” and she never greets you without one proudly tucked in her mouth. When you walk through the door after a long day, she talks to you in excited little cries, her entire body wiggling with happiness. Her tail doesn’t just wag, it sweeps back and forth with so much enthusiasm that it thumps against everything in reach. It is impossible to stay stressed when Tiki is celebrating your return like you just came home from war.

Then you sit down on the couch and accept your fate. She climbs up beside you, presses close, and gives you a million kisses as if she needs to make up for every second you were gone.

She loves with her whole heart. Fully. Fearlessly. Without hesitation.

Now, Tiki is facing another battle. ⚠️

She has been diagnosed with adrenal dependent Cushing’s Disease, caused by a tumor affecting one or potentially both of her adrenal glands. Further testing is needed to determine exactly where it is located and how extensive it may be.

Before surgery can even be considered, she must undergo extensive diagnostics to determine if the tumor is invasive and whether it has spread. These tests are critical to building a surgical plan that gives her the best chance possible.

If surgery is an option, it will be a complex adrenalectomy performed by a specialist. The adrenal glands sit near major blood vessels, making this a delicate and high risk procedure. ⚕️

And it does not end there. Recovery will require intensive post operative care, hospitalization, close monitoring of blood pressure, heart rhythm, electrolytes, and hormone levels. She may need IV fluids, medications, and hormone support as her body adjusts. Even once she comes home, there will be continued bloodwork, follow ups, and careful supervision to ensure she heals safely.

The financial cost is overwhelming.

But walking away is not an option.

Everyone deserves a chance at life, even animals.

Tiki deserves hers.

She survived neglect. She learned how to trust. She learned how to love without holding back.

We just want her to keep meeting us at the door with one of her babies in her mouth.

If you are able to donate, share her story, or keep her in your thoughts, we are deeply grateful. Every contribution brings us closer to keeping her tail wagging, her kisses coming, and her joyful little cries echoing through our home. ✨

Thank you for helping us fight for our girl.

She is not just a dog.

She is family. ❤️
