The epitome of light and positivity. A bad ass Wahine whose resilience and love is her foundation. To know her is to love her.

On February 6th, 2024 my mom went in for a Colonoscopy where she was immediately diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Cancer. The devastating news has completely broken our hearts and turned our world upside down.

During this unsettling month I have witnessed my mom experience a range of emotions daily; from fear, pain and uncertainty to bravery and strength. Her bravery and strength will continue to overcome. She is admirable. If you didn’t know already, don’t mess with Mama Tanju!

In addition to preparing for what’s to come for her physically, we are now navigating the intricate web of doctors appointments and daunting financials. I along with my aunties have been focusing on conquering the hurdles of getting her to City of Hope in Southern California or MD Anderson in Houston, Texas for the best treatment and care. With her advanced diagnosis, time is of the essence.
