Help Tiffany Overcome Her Medical Hurdle
Hi, my name is Kristen and I'm a friend of Tiffany's. I'm reaching out to her friends and family to ask you to consider helping Tiffany and her family out.
From what I've seen for myself over the years Tiffany has shared parts of her journey with NF2 on Facebook and Instagram. You have only seen parts. From what she tells me she doesn't like to overshare with everything she goes through. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming for her to talk about. She tries her hardest to live a normal life.
Well last week Tiffany received news from her Neurosurgeon and confirmation from her Neurotology Doctors about a specific tumor they have been watching for years.
From what I am understating is the tumor has grown over time and it's always been a "let's not touch it unless we have to" kind of tumor (non-Cancerous, but still dangerous). Now it's a "the only option is radiation" to hopefully shrink it kind of tumor. The docs are trying to save her only hearing ear and her facial nerve on the left. Unfortunately, Tiffany lost her hearing in her right ear 8 years ago while trying to remove a tumor from the nerve.
She has had over 45 surgeries, and most have been within the last 11 years of her life.
She didn't want to ask friends for help, but she caved. The main reason is the doc and this certain type of radiation for this tumor is in Charlottesville, Virgina.
It's a 3–4-day visit. Paperwork has been submitted to insurance pending approval. However, with it being an out of network situation they will most likely not cover all medical expenses.
Let's not forget she has to fly and find a nice place to stay, and she can't go alone.
