In the last month and a half, I have faced a series of serious health challenges. I contracted Covid, the flu, pneumonia in both lungs, a respiratory infection, bronchitis, and rhinovirus. At one point, I was admitted to the hospital, unsure if I would make it through. After being released, I was rushed back to the emergency room and transferred again to the hospital. Throughout this ordeal, my thoughts have been with my son Elijah. The fear of leaving him alone in this world is overwhelming, and I am not ready to give up. Elijah is a bright, gifted 13-year-old who was accepted into a magnet school for theater arts and recently into a magnet law program. I am so proud of the young man he is becoming. He has shown incredible strength, staying calm when I have had seizures and medical emergencies, and always supporting me through the toughest times.
The past week has brought even more obstacles. My car, which is my only means of transportation to work, is now down with multiple warning lights on, and I don’t know what’s wrong with it. Without a car, I can’t get to work, especially as a contract worker. Facing eviction and mounting bills, I am reaching out for help. If you are able to donate, share, or send a prayer, it would mean the world to me and my son. Your support will help us through this difficult time and give me the strength to keep going. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer.
