Hello, my name is Patrice Ward, Im Tiffany's mother and I'm raising money to assist with my daughter Tiffany Montgomery's cancer treatment. Tiffany is in her second month of chemo and radiation treatment and was notified yesterday that her Kaiser coverage, which was paid by Medi-Cal, is canceled due to her income, which was calculated before Chemo/ Radiation. For care, she needs to pay a deposit of $115 for each treatment 5 days a week, $115 for chemo once a week, and $115 for a blood test once a week. Also, she has to have an MRI and a surgical procedure that includes radiation, each requiring a deposit. These deposits are not the total bill, just an amount that will continue her care.
Although Tiffany is gainfully employed, due to being less than a year on the job, she does not qualify for medical or disability benefits. Tiffany was told by Medi-Cal to reapply but due to the shutdown, this can take more than 30 days if approved. As a family, with friends, we have been absorbing living expenses due to the effects of chemo and radiation. This new cost equals $805 weekly, plus medication and any other services. Although we are very private people, we are forced to ask for help. Money raised will pay for some daily living expenses like food and bills, but mostly the need is for medical care.
I'm asking if you could give what you can; your effort will help relieve some of the stressful thoughts for my daughter. She is a single mother who is also concerned for her child. Everyone who knows Tiff knows she's hardworking. She's been working her job on her up days, hoping not to have a need; however, life says different, and we must ask for help. Thank you in advance.
