My name is Tifah Washington (they/them) . I'm a 20 y/o Trans Black/Indonesian from Washington D.C. currently residing in Philadelphia. I'm an art maker and aspiring educator. It's been a year since losing my mother in the beginning of 2019. Its been about a month since losing my aunt who was helping me financially. I've been quite resilient thanks to the support of friends and chosen family.
After losing the most important person in my life I've had to navigate my finances independently. Fortunately, prior to the pandemic I was stable enough to take care of myself and expenses. I don't usually ask for help and anyone that knows me, knows it actually makes me extremely uncomfortable. However, much as changed since then. I no longer have a source of income and the funds I've saved are quickly running out.
I currently owe Temple University $1867 in funds from my last semester (spring). I won't be able to attend school for future semesters to continue pursuing my art education degree until this balance is paid off. I intend on using these funds to pay for school tuition/expenses, rent/utilities, food and survival.
I'm also in need of art supplies to continue my artistic practice, which has been on hold due to the lack of resources and studio access. I hope to purchase a laptop and tufting guns (to create beautiful rugs) so that I can sell and commission work as a source of income.
Hopefully with your help I can reach my goal. Anything helps even its just aiding in this campaign's circulation. I appreciate you all immensely. Wishing you massive amounts of love and abundance. Stay safe and healthy.
GofundMe is known to take a good chunk of funds. If you’d rather help directly ....
