My name is Tiesha Davis and I am a single mom. My son is 15 and is on the spectrum, which makes life a bit more challenging for both of us. He has certain needs that must be met, including transportation to and from appointments, and on days when he needs to get out of the house. In case of emergencies, I need to be able to reach him quickly.
A couple of years ago, I suffered a stroke that left me homebound and paralyzed on one side for seven months. I live in a town with very limited public transportation, and I am still not able to walk long distances due to extreme nerve damage. I previously owned a car, but after my stroke, I made the difficult decision to lend it to a person in a position of power who also had a need and agreed to take over the payments while I recovered. Unfortunately, this person totaled my car. It took them two years to settle the loan, and by the time it was resolved, my credit was significantly impacted.
This brings me to why I am here. I am seeking support to purchase a reliable car so my son and I can regain our independence and participate in life again. Right now, we are both on disability and watching life pass us by. This fundraiser feels like our last and only hope. Any help you can provide would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. God bless you.
