Ny name is Tierra and I am a Mom of 2 …In 2022 my life took a hard turn…it started off being pregnant with my son, I caught pneumonia. Because I was pregnant, there was little to nothing the doctors could do except let me ride it out. After giving birth, I experienced swelling in my face and was sent to an allergist, but all tests came back negative. My primary doctor then referred me to a rheumatologist, where I tested positive for rheumatoid arthritis. And since I was still pregnant there was no treatment that I could….I then developed a terrible cough and was sent to a pulmonologist, where I was diagnosed with interstitial lung disease. I had my son November 5th 2022… One day while at work I wasn’t feeling well so the nurses checked my oxygen levels and realized it dropped to 64%, leading to hospitalization and eventually medical retirement and disability. I now require 8 liters of oxygen and take multiple pills daily just to stay alive. Due to stress and being ill…In April 2024, I was on life support due to pneumonia and sepsis, and in June 2025, I suffered a stroke. My health has continued to decline every since…In July 2025 I had a pulmonary appointment and was then told I needed a double lung transplant.At this moment I am hospitalized and are currently waiting for my lung transplant. I was also told before leaving the hospital I will have to have a feeding tube in place for a least a year. This journey has been incredibly challenging, physically, emotionally and most of all mentally…I'm have spent countless days in and out of the hospital, fighting to stay strong for myself and my family.
