update December - TiAuna has finished all of her chemo treatments over the last several months. They recently found a spot on one of her kidneys (possibly additional cancer) and enlarged lymph nodes which requires treatment. Additionally, due to the intensity of her previous treatments she has been unable to work so living on one income is difficult especially with all of the medical bills. She currently has a lot of upcoming tests, definite surgery, and uncertainties to deal with in the next few weeks/months.Thanks everyone for the prayers, help, donations - let’s keep them coming to help this wonderful family during the holiday/birthday season.
update- 6/11 TiAuna is very thankful to be home with her family as she is currently recovering from her latest surgery. She is in a lot of pain still and needs a very aggressive form of chemotherapy that will hopefully begin soon in the next week or so. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers and the donations so far have been so helpful and appreciated.
Recently, my sister in law, TiAuna Shanholtz was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She is married to my brother, Tyler, and they have 3 amazing boys - Austin - 26 years old, Tyson - 16 years old, and Lincoln - 11 years old.
TiAuna was diagnosed in May and since then it has been a whirlwind for their family as things haven’t quite gone as planned. The game plan has been changing daily which has given them a new appreciation of the statement “living day by day”. She has been in and out of the hospital and is currently in Hershey with some complications. She has been told her treatments will be aggressive and must begin as soon as possible.
TiAuna is a gentle soul with the most contagious laugh. She is a great wife, mother, daughter, friend, sister, aunt, and so much more. Shes also a devoted nurse and has treated so many people. Sadly, at 42 years old, it’s her turn to be treated and cared for.
If you know her or Tyler personally, they do not like to ask for help but are always the first ones in line to help others. They are both very involved in their boys’ sporting events, academics, and the community. Right now, however, their main focus is getting Tiauna the best care which means she is not able to work or be as involved as she always has been.
Due to the suddenness and hardships that have already occurred, they’ve had very little time to prepare emotionally or financially. All donated funds from this page will assist with the sudden need of unforeseen expenses due to travel, food costs, overnight stays, hospital bills, various other bills, and overall treatment plans. I know this is a difficult time for many so if you are able to help financially in any way, that would be extremely helpful. Any amount is appreciated. If you are unable to assist financially, please keep TiAuna and their family in your thoughts and prayers as she moves forward through her cancer journey.
