Since then, I have found refuge with a trusted friend, but my ex has continued to threaten my housing situation and has tried to have me removed from my lease. I lost my job during this time, and while I have secured a new one, I have not yet started a regular schedule. I am determined to move to a different state to be with my best friends and start over in a safe, supportive environment, far from my abuser.
