Hello friends, family, mentors, and supporters, I am reaching out with humility and hope as I face an unexpected financial challenge during the final stretch of my medical school journey. I am currently a fourth-year medical student with just one semester remaining before earning my medical degree. After years of dedication, sacrifice, long hours of studying, clinical rotations, and serving patients, I am closer than ever to achieving my dream of becoming a physician.
Unfortunately, recent changes to federal student aid eligibility under the 'Big Beautiful Bill' have left me in a difficult position. Despite previously relying on federal funding to continue my education, I no longer qualify for the financial assistance needed to cover my final semester's tuition and related educational expenses.
Throughout medical school, I have worked hard not only in the classroom and clinical settings but also within my community. I have been actively involved in the Yearbook Committee, helping preserve and celebrate our class's journey; community service initiatives, giving back to underserved populations; mentorship programs, supporting fellow students as they navigate medical training; the Anesthesiology Interest Club, pursuing my passion for the specialty I hope to enter; and the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), advocating for diversity, equity, and mentorship in medicine.
Asking for help is not easy, but I have come too far to let this unexpected funding gap prevent me from completing my education. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward tuition, fees, and essential educational costs required to finish my final semester.
