On Monday, December 29th, a devastating fire broke out at The Apollo building where Tia lived. The building has since been condemned, the locks have been changed, and residents have been displaced with very little warning or access to their belongings.

Like many others, Tia lost everything inside her home - essentials, clothing, keepsakes, and the everyday things that make life feel stable and normal. Her beloved cat, Rue, is still missing, and the search continues as safely as possible given the building restrictions and freezing temperatures.

Anyone who knows Tia knows she is the first to show up for others and the last to ask for help herself. She has been overwhelmed (in the kindest way) by messages asking "What do you need?", "How can I help?". Because she is still processing everything and figuring out what life looks like from here, we created this GoFundMe so there is one simple place for support while she gets steady again.
