Hi. My name is Liza and I am fundraising for my co-worker Tia and her 15 year old daughter India. On July 9th, her current boyfriend that she was trying to end the relationship with tried to kill her. He came to her sister’s house and persuaded her to get in his car. Before they could get to the corner, he stabbed Tia in her throat. As she fought him off and tried to get out of the car, he stabbed her in her shoulder. Tia was taken to the hospital for her injuries. While at the hospital, he went to her home and took a gas can and poured gasoline all over her bedroom and also tired to set her daughter’s bedroom on fire. He killed her fish and then went to her driveway and proceeded to set her car on fire.

Tia’s home she owns will require extensive repairs/rebuilding. Tia’s car was burned to the ground and is a total loss. They lost all their belongings in the fire. Tia was unable to get a restraining order on this man because she does not know where he is living. Tia and her daughter now have to replace everything they once owned. Tia needs a vehicle to get to work when she is able to return to work. She works in healthcare and is much needed and valued. Tia is always a kind person and has a great sense of humor. We miss her at work! She and her daughter deserve a fresh start.
