HELP through WINTER in UKRAINE

Hi, I am fundraising for our dear friends in Ukraine to help them get through winter. The raised funds will go towards petrol for a power generator, LPG gas for heating and other supplies like power banks, candles etc.

Aleksandra and Katya (6) Ovchar Tymenko, Ola and Vika (9) Vyzyk and Lyuda Tymenko fled Ukraine at the beginning of the Russian invasion and entered Poland as refugees. My family hosted them in Poland for about six months. I had the pleasure of meeting them and getting to know them while visiting my family; a strong bond was built for sure and we all became friends. They returned to Ukraine (Kyiv) in August 2022 to reunite with their husbands and fathers. The situation seemed a bit quieter at that time in their country. Soon after, Russia attacked again and continues to do so, aiming at Ukraine's power plants. Destroying energy sources is a strategic move to deprive the Ukrainian people of electricity and heating in winter, making a living very difficult.

The mean temperatures in winter range from 2 to -4.8 degrees Celcius in Kyiv.

Due to the power loss, most Ukrainian homes are without electricity for most of the day - our friends currently have 2-hours of electricity a day. Their heating is LPG, but the heat pump requires electricity to work.

My family in Poland will provide them with a power generator to help keep the fridge and the heat pump going, and charge phones (a necessary means of communication and connection with their family and the world). The money raised here will help buy petrol/diesel for the generator and LPG gas for heating, power banks for emergency phone charging, and other supplies needed to help them get through winter.

GoFundme does not operate in Ukraine. Therefore, the raised money will be paid out into my account. I will use an international money transfer to send the funds to the above recipients.
