Help Thrifted FL cover cleanup after the fire — Dunnellon
Short summary
$3,500 for cleanup crew, equipment access, and the sudden bills that hit when the store was lost. No one was hurt. Donations help. Prayers help.
Yesterday, August 1, 2026—
If you drive through Dunnellon, you know this store.
Thrifted FL sits on the main highway. People came in for furniture, antiques, clothes, glassware, and those unexpected finds. The photos of the bar, the chandelier, and the furniture floor are what the shop looked like before the fire.
Then the fire hit.
No one was inside. No one was hurt. The building was empty when it started, and everyone is safe. We are grateful for that first and foremost . What we lost is the store itself.
The sales floor is gutted. The ceiling burned and collapsed in places. Clothing, household goods, antiques, fixtures, and stock are gone or ruined. Those “after” photos are the store now.
This campaign is not asking the community to rebuild the whole building. Insurance will be part of that process at some point in the future. We are asking for $3,500 to cover the costs that landed immediately:
• Access to cleanup equipment and a crew so we can start making the space safe
• Unexpected bills and costs that come with losing the business overnight, the aftershock of a fire that just happened, when nothing was budgeted for a sudden shutdown
That is the honest number. It is specific because the need right now is specific. Cleanup cannot wait, and the bills tied to a closed store do not wait either.
Donations are extremely helpful. If $5, $15, or $50 is what you can do, it helps move this goal. If you cannot give, please don’t discount the genuine strength of prayers and positive thoughts/energy. We are already feeling the support and the prayers from people who know about this fire. That matters to us palpably as much, if not more than the funds. Your support is powerful in this vulnerable time, . We are forever grateful and look forward to continuing our mission of improving the lives of those in need and uplifting our community.
If you can do one thing today:
• Donate if you are able
• Send a prayer or a kind word
We will post updates as cleanup starts and as we have more definitive details. We will be straight about how this $3,500 is used.
Thank you for every dollar, every share, and every single prayer. We will get through the aftershock of this fire the same way this store always worked — with this community. Dunnellon is the example of a community role model the country needs.
