My name is Iveth Rivera, and my husband Lance and I own Merry Maids of Pasadena. The Eaton fire has been a devastating tragedy for our entire community, leaving many families displaced and struggling to rebuild their lives. Among those affected are three of our incredible Merry Maids team members who have dedicated themselves to cleaning and caring for homes in our area. These women, who have always been there for us, have now lost their housing and everything they own in the fire.

Georgina lived in an apartment in Altadena with her parents and 8-year old son. Mari Catalina and her daughter-in-law, Mari Carmen (both Merry Maids employees) also shared a home in the community with Mari Carmen’s husband, their two children and other extended family members. On Tuesday evening, like many others, they were forced to evacuate in a hurry and leave everything behind. By Wednesday afternoon, they discovered that their homes and belongings were mostly ashes.

These resilient women have worked tirelessly to ensure our homes are spotless and welcoming. Now, it’s our turn to give back to them. Their families need our help to secure housing, replace lost belongings, and cover basic living expenses as they begin to rebuild.
