Help Parkinson's disease Patients and Caregivers

SHORT VERSION (TLDR): Can you help my friend, a Parkinson's patient/ambassador/advocate, to attend the World Parkinson's Congress in Spain for important training and networking that he can bring back and share in the States? Any amount helps..... (more below)

The World Parkinson's Congress is the largest gathering of Parkinson's Disease patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and scientists, and it's coming up in 2023 in Spain. My friend Mark, himself a "Parkie," has been invited by the organizers to gain intense training regarding Parkinson's Disease, which is currently the fastest growing neurological disease. Being an Ambassador for the Parkinson's Foundation, the training will allow him to share even more knowledge with the following parts of society that he already interacts with as a speaker and advocate: people like patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, university professors, and our country's lawmakers. It would also help Mark to further social connections for patients/caregivers within the community.

Just a little about His Ambassador-ship (what's a friend for, if not to tease you a bit when you gain the title of Ambassador?) He won't like me writing this because he's genuinely a humble guy, but Mark thinks of others first and tries to help people whenever he can. He does all this advocate work tirelessly, while fighting his own effects of Parkinson's. He will always try hard to find the good in a situation, and he's bound and determined to take his Parkinson's and "Make it Meaningful."

In the frenzied month of March 2020, when the whole world was shaken by Covid, Mark was literally shaking with the onset of Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease. Diagnosed in 2021, he immediately got to work creating something positive out of something negative. He created social media accounts that spread PD awareness and began fostering social networks for patients and caregivers. He's extremely active in local PD fundraising events (seven so far) and raised over $4200 in the last 2 years to fight Parkinson's Disease.
