Hi! My name is Thorne and I am a trans man who has finally gotten his top surgery scheduled! I’m so excited to start the next chapter of my life with my new chest! As with any surgery, there will be some costs that I need to cover. These costs include the surgery itself, post-op care, and time out of work as well as travel and other expenses related to my partner coming in to be my “nurse” I'm fundraising to cover these expenses.

A little about me - I’m a big animal person! I’ve worked with and around animals personally and professionally my whole life. I've spent much of my life around dogs, cats, horses, and reptiles, as well as pretty much everything small and fuzzy. I’m a nerd. I love playing D&D. I also enjoy going to Renfaires and other fantasy events with my friends. Additionally, I’m a big lover of music - both listening to it, and playing it. I play a large variety of instruments, including cello, guitar, ukulele, and bass. Reading is another of my favorite pastimes, and I expect to do a lot of it while recovering.

This surgery with be life changing for me, not only in the alleviation of significant distress for me in my own body, but also because it will make it much safer for me to exist as a trans person in the Southern US. The political climate currently has placed me in a risky situation. Honestly, the worry of being “found out” by the wrong person adds a lot of fear and stress into my life.

I love being trans! I love the unique experience and perspective on life it gives me. However, I also need to be safe and able to choose when and where to disclose my identity. Your donations will allow me to choose how and to whom I share my identity, keep me safe, and allow me to fully feel comfortable in my body.
