Our kitten Thorfin has always been a little fighter. We rescued him and his sister when they were just a few days old, bottle feeding them and watching them grow into playful, loving companions. Thorfin earned his name after a Viking warrior because of his strong spirit and determination to survive from the very beginning.

Recently, Thorfin managed to sneak out of the house and was attacked on our front porch by our neighbor’s dog. He suffered a severely broken leg, and now he’s facing a difficult road ahead. The veterinarians have told us that Thorfin will need surgery—either to repair the fracture with an orthopedic specialist or, if that’s not possible, to amputate his leg. Both options are costly, and as much as I want to do everything for him, I can’t do it alone this time.
