Thor is a ten-year-old retired military dog who now serves as a loyal companion and service dog to Richard Fernandez. Richard and Thor share a deep bond, relying on each other for comfort and support, especially as Richard faces his own health battles. Unfortunately, Thor has been diagnosed with a tumor in his chest that requires urgent surgery.

Richard is currently homeless and undergoing chemotherapy for lung cancer, making it impossible for him to afford the life-saving surgery Thor needs. Despite these challenges, Thor continues to bring joy and stability to Richard’s life. Karla, who owns Cookies Grooming in the shopping center at 67th Ave and 167th St, helps care for Thor when Richard needs extra support. Thor visits Cookies for his regular baths and to stay safe during extreme weather.

The funds raised will go directly toward Thor’s surgery, medication, and hospital stay at CARE CORNER Vet Clinic, located in the same shopping center.
