His Story:
We're almost there thanks to all the generous donations received! $1100 new goal
A Vietnam Veteran, living alone, has an adult son that has no time for him, recently suffered a severe stroke. Despite a remarkable recent recovery, urgent repairs were needed in his home to ensure his safety and well-being, and we are seeking the community's help with paying for emergency repairs that were done.
A Life of Service and Silent struggle:
Our friend's home was found unlivable, major repairs needed, unable to afford, after suffering years of depression and isolation after the loss of his beloved wife. Despite facing personal hardships, he always showed us kindness and generosity. Friends, Close neighbors and their families stepped up and helped him, working on house maintenance and deep cleaning while he was hospitalized over a few weeks, aiming to prevent him from being placed in a nursing home.
How your Donations will be used:
One last effort to try and get the rest of his plumbing bill paid.
We have already gotten assistance on his roof and foundation and that is in the works from places that the resources were provided to us. Thank you for that as well!
Our Veteran friend's house required urgent repairs, including plumbing work and gas leak fixes, to ensure his safety and also the compliance with city regulations. A licensed plumbing company has recently completed the emergency work, leaving him with a balance due of $2000 after very generous discounts.
God Bless them for doing this without payment upfront, as for the generous discounts!
If you would prefer to donate directly to this plumbing company, that would be great as well!
Mesquite Plumbing, for Thomas Mitchell in Balch Springs, TX.
Thanks to the very generous donations given, we have already been able to call and start paying down this bill, taking this stress off of him. God Bless you all for your generous donations and support!
Why Your Help Truly Matters:
Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact this veteran's overall quality of life, as he lives on a very limited income.
This fundraiser is more than just about raising money to pay on a bill, it is about showing gratitude and supporting a veteran who served our country, then unfortunately silently struggled for years. It's about community coming together to ensure one of our own can still live with dignity and safety in his own home.
Your donation, combined with the continued efforts of his caring neighbors and friends, is make a real difference in this veteran's life. We all understand hard times and struggling, and know it is never easy asking for help. By supporting this fundraiser, you're not only supporting a deserving veteran but also sending out a powerful message, that it's okay to reach out for help, and that there are people who do care and will assist however they can.
We deeply appreciate any support you can offer, whether donation, or sharing this fundraiser to spread the word.
Thank you, God Bless!
