Help Thomas Hunter Students Reach FCCLA Nationals

Our small school district is doing BIG things!
The FCCLA class from Thomas Hunter Middle School, in Mathews, VA, under the leadership of Mrs. Michelle Williams, has qualified to attend the 2025 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL, July 5-9. While there, they will present a service project for Weighted Angels, a local nonprofit organization that provides weighted stuffed animals to mothers who have lost a child to stillbirth or infant death shortly after birth so they do not have to go home empty-handed.
This amazing opportunity for our students to represent Mathews County comes at a cost. Travel expenses, lodging, registration for FCCLA-sponsored events, and food for three students, one teacher, and one parent chaperone comes to a grand total of $10,000. These students are participating in additional fundraising events to help offset the cost to individual families and Mrs. Williams, who is taking time from her summer to take them on this wonderful trip. All funds collected will go directly to these students to ensure their participation and enhance their experience while in Florida. Let's show this group of hardworking students how proud we are of them and help them get to Florida!
