This page is created for Thomas McWilliams, the firstborn son of Florence.
Florence McWilliams is a single mom of 2 kids. She lost her husband in a ghastly car crash years ago. She has 2 lovely kids, Thomas and Ella. She's been finding things hard trying to meet her kids' needs and her own. She's been working endlessly, multitasking, and doing everything to make earnings.
The shocking bad news is here.
Sweet, blue-eyed Thomas, her oldest child, just 12 years old (turning 13 on September 15th), has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Medullary Carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer. It is often advanced by the time it’s discovered, and treatment options are extremely limited.
The news has left the family shattered, and all who love him devastated. Yet even in this storm, Thomas' faith has been a beacon of light.
Who Thomas Is
Thomas is more than a diagnosis. He’s the oldest, looked up to by his little sister who adores him. He’s smart, witty, inquisitive, and incredibly gifted. He plays the piano and guitar, filling his home with music and inspiration. To his family, he’s not only a son and brother but also a role model and source of joy.
The Need
Right now, Thomas and his single mom are considering traveling to hospitals outside of New York and working tirelessly to connect with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where doctors are running clinical trials to treat this rare disease. Your generosity will go directly toward any travel expenses needed, medical bills, and allowing Florence to stay by her son’s side for as long as they have him without the crushing weight of financial burden.
How You Can Help
We are asking for two things:
1) Your prayers — that God would bring miraculous healing, strength, and comfort.
2) Your generosity — any amount given will be received with deep gratitude.
We are fighting cancer as hard as we can and surrounding Thomas and his family with love and provision during the hardest season of their lives.
A Birthday Blessing
Thomas' 13th birthday is September 15th. Instead of a celebration filled with friends, cake, and music, he’s hospitalized on a feeding tube and doctors are exploring treatment options. Our prayer is that together we can bless Thomas beyond anything he could imagine to show him that he is not alone, that he is deeply loved, and that an army of faith-filled friends and strangers are standing with him.
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us:
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
We believe God for a miracle. We ask you to believe with us.
