Help the Thomas Family After Unfair Eviction

Lateka Thomas and her two daughters, aged 14 and 20, were displaced from their home in Houston’s Third Ward last week when their landlord - who had failed to pay water bills to the City of Houston for years - boarded up their home and locked them out. Shortly thereafter, Ms. Thomas, a cancer survivor, landed in the hospital, where she remains.

Her girls have done their best to navigate Houston’s housing crisis on their own and have secured temporary housing (paid for by the eldest daughter’s part-time job), but they deserve more stability.

This fundraiser will help the family get back on their feet, including reconnecting their phone service, paying a temporary housing deposit, and a few months’ rent in a new home.
