Help Thom Dierks Rock Out Cancer
Our first campaign ‘Help Thom Dierks Rock Out Cancer’ was a success – we reached our target of $13,666 in 2019/2020. For everyone who contributed or shared our campaign with their network of family and friends, we are all eternally grateful.
Thom responded well to two brain surgeries, numerous radiation treatments and immunotherapy, but unfortunately he remains sick and cannot return to work on orders from his doctors. He has been hospitalized several times in the last year because of post-surgical complications and each day comes with a very real level of uncertainty. His attitude is positive and his sense of humor is intact, but there is no denying that this has been a difficult 20 months for our friend.
There is never a good time to be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Having to battle this disease and all that comes with it during a global pandemic has been an unbelievable challenge for Thom.
The government’s Covid relief payments helped many of us deal with work outages and the loss of wages. Unfortunately, because he was medically disabled when the pandemic struck, Thom did not qualify for or receive any of the stimulus relief that most of us received. Over the many months, rent, utilities, medicine, food and living expenses combined to exhaust the fund we all created to help Thom survive.
Now, although your generous contributions and words of support were a true blessing to our dear friend, Thom finds himself in dire need again. In response to this, we have created Help Thom Dierks Rock Out Cancer II. We also challenged ourselves with a target of $12,950.00. Can you help?
We are very aware that the last year has been hard on everyone. Even if you remained healthy and did not lose a loved one, the pandemic disrupted everyone’s life and caused a great deal of hardship. However, we remain a community that stands together, and one that takes care of our own. If you can help again with a donation, we all – and particularly Thom, would be so grateful.
Thank you in advance for reading, sharing and particularly for any contribution you can make.
One final note – we are in the process of putting together a concert/ fundraiser to be held in Chicago soon. We would certainly love to see you there – so please reach out if you can participate in any way.
