Help Thom and Lisa through Emergency Medical Evacuation

My name is Katelyn Manion de Villafuerte, and I’m reaching out to help raise funds for my dear friends, colleagues Thom and Lisa Schmit.

Thom and Lisa are a couple who have devoted their lives to serving the Lord, sharing His love all around the world. From over a decade of serving in China to their most recent work ministering in Lima, Peru, they have poured out their hearts to those in need time and time again.

Over the past few months, Thom has faced serious medical challenges and suffering. Despite all efforts and the resources available during his now over three-week hospitalization in Peru, Thom’s condition has not improved. After much prayer and consultation, Thom has now been approved for an emergency medical evacuation to the United States. Praise God that their insurance will cover the cost of this crucial transfer!

However, there are additional costs associated with their evacuation from Peru to the U.S., particularly for Lisa, who will be staying with Thom through this difficult time. We anticipate they will be in the United States for at least two months, possibly longer. I’ve put together a detailed budget to help cover Lisa’s living expenses while they are Stateside.
