Hi everyone, my name is Brandon Tang, I am a Chinese-Cambodian 18 year old from Manchester. As most of you may know I am a competitive scooter rider who has dedicated most of my life to get to where I am now. I am trying to get my name out there as one of the very few asian riders, I want to influence more asian riders and younger kids to compete and help the younger generation to get into the sport too.

Over the last couple of years I have taken scootering a lot more serious, this has made me practice and dedicate so much more to push my limits and make me progress to a whole other level. In 2023 I was invited to compete in the European Finals, this was the first major competition outside of the UK for my career. The hard work I had to put into practice for that competition paid off as I was gaining more and more of an audience but also a lot more progression was made after learning from my mistakes to achieve what the other talented riders out there were already moving onto.

This year I have made my mark and all the progression and commitment has paid off, I was hand-picked out of the Pro-Riders at a big competition to be apart of the UK National Team. They also invited me to go and compete in Japan where The Scootering World Final will take place this year. This competition in Japan is one of the best opportunities to do what I love and show the world what I can do. It has always been a dream to be able to inspire people with the sport and be such an influence to people, my younger self would have dreamed of something like this but never expected to be apart of this experience. It is such an amazing feeling to be seen by the world and make history for my family.

My family have played such a big role in my scootering career, they have travelled up and down the country for me and have made so many sacrifices over the years just to accommodate and help me progress. The main reason in pushing my limits is to make my family proud of the sport I have taken on and pursued. I couldn’t thank them enough for what they have done for me but it has been hard for them to financially help me and travel outside of the country. The expenses are pretty high for me to travel to Japan but this experience is not one to miss out on, so I have set this GoFundMe to help me achieve my goals and hopefully help me get to Japan and compete for the UK.
