Help this Veteran...His Emotional Support Dog NEEDS Surgery!
Donation protected
My dog KEE-Tah is my ALL! I am a combat veteran, beset with PTSD coupled with bipolar, depressive disorder. If the aforementioned wasn’t enough to keep any person in a dark, lonely place...I was diagnosed with Stage III prostate cancer in July of 2023 and had a full prostatectomy shortly thereafter. After my surgery, my dark days continued to become galaxy dark.
That’s when my eldest daughter (Brei) donned her #GuardianAngel wings and asked her mother, who had two new Bea’Tzu (Beagle, Shih-Tzu Mix) puppies, to please give one to dad, as "he NEEDS new life in his life". I got my new, needed addition to life (KEE-Tah) on December 28, 2023, and since that day, she has been EVERYTHING I needed and much more.
On Friday night, March 21, 2025, while watching “March Madness” I got overexcited on a winning shot; jumped up in the air to celebrate and came back down on my lil friend (KEE-Tah). I knew I hurt her but did not know the extent. The following day, I took her to the Veterinary Emergency Group Hospital, and x-rays confirmed that she had a dislocated hip “coxofemoral luxation” (see attached pic). Because she is still young, her ball joint is not fully formed. Thus, popping the hip back in is “NOT” an option because it will “NOT” sit secured. Thus, she will need to have a “Femoral Head Ostectomy Medium” (see attached discharge summary).
KEE-Tah’s visit to the Pet ER, the x-rays, and medications was $944.74. I do NOT have pet insurance and am on a structured income. The $944.74 fractured that structure, and her NEEDED surgery will be in the range of $4,000.00 - $6,000.00. She has a pre-op consultation this Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:30AM (see attached confirmation). If she does NOT have the surgery, as soon as practical, her quality of life will NOT be good…thus, mine will NOT either. I NEED her to be her BEST, so I can be at my BEST for her! WE NEED to be 100% for each other. PLEASE help me, help my NEEDED little, best friend! ALL proceeds will go toward KEE-Tah’s surgery and recovery efforts. Thanks in advance for your time, consideration, and/or monetary gift.
