Help This TSW-Eczema Advocate get CAP treatment

We know it’s a very delicate time right now, but it is never comfortable to ask for this magnitude of help. But during crazy times like this, we believe in controlling what we can, and whether or not Linette receives treatment is something we can control.

HER DEBILITATING CONDITION:

Linette’s condition of TSW has been exacerbated by decades of steroid usage(and recently a biologic and JAK Inhibitor that left her with severe side effects and an excruciating withdrawal) that she used as her doctors prescribed. There is currently no known cure for TSW since it is a drug withdrawal, leaving patients to suffer for months to years, with only the option of help through natural healing, supplementation, and from other prescription drugs with their own set of side effects.

WHAT HER LIFE LOOKS LIKE:

Decade after decade, she normalized the pain, not realizing that what she had was a disability, as she was told this was just severe eczema. Living with TSW has left her with a life dependent on steroids that were no longer working, instead deteriorating her health to the point where she still hasn’t been able to finish college, has had to leave jobs once her flares became too much to manage, even preventing her from years of traditional dating, socializing, and missing the numerous milestones of friends and family. Her most recent withdrawal is coming up on 5 years, and though she has experienced some healing, she still has a long way to go and this one has left her homebound and wheelchair bound, unable to walk due to TSW. Attending Eczema Expo once a year and then leaving the house for a handful of doctor appointments is not enough of a social life for Linette, and though she loves the weekly TSW/Eczema Meetups she helps facilitate via Zoom, she is ready for more.

If she owned anything of considerable monetary value, she would sell it just to have the chance to receive this treatment in order for her to finally be able to experience what it’s like to sweat without experiencing bone-deep-itch, to be able to fully extend her arms over her head, to once again be able to put on a shirt all by herself without having to take painkillers first, to be fully submerged in water without repercussions, and to finally get a good night’s sleep lying flat on her back on a bed instead of balanced precariously on a rolling chair-and-desk situation. And eventually, she would love to be able to stand and walk again. And if it's not too much trouble, be comfortable enough to give her fiance a proper hug without zingers.
