Help Us Save This Sweet Girl!!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!! Please keep sharing!
UPDATE
We have surgery scheduled for March 24th 830am.
We have also chosen a name for this sweet girl FOXY LADY.
An amazing new pup to hang at the range!! Yoda's new girlfriend.
Last Sunday morning while driving to work at the shooting range in Piru, CTA, I came across a dog that had clearly been injured. She was alone on the side of the road and struggling, but despite being in pain she was incredibly sweet and gentle.
I couldn’t just drive past her.
We carefully got her into a customers vehicle and brought her up to the range. After bathing her and waiting to see if anyone would come forward, we took her to the veterinarian last night. After $600 in exams and X-rays, we learned the heartbreaking news — she has a broken hip.
The veterinarian believes she may have been hit by a car or injured by cattle. She is still trying to walk and even puts some weight on the leg, but the injury is severe and she will need orthopedic surgery to repair the hip and live a normal life.
Without surgery she could live in chronic pain or lose proper use of the leg.
She has no microchip, and so far no owner has come forward.
Even though I wasn’t expecting to take on a medical rescue like this, I simply couldn’t leave her suffering on the road. She is such a loving dog and deserves a chance.
So far we have already spent $600 on diagnostics, and the surgery and recovery care are expected to cost several thousand dollars.
We are asking for help from anyone willing to give this sweet girl a second chance.
Every donation will go directly toward:
Orthopedic hip surgery
Veterinary care and medications
Post-surgery recovery and rehabilitation
She is incredibly sweet and trusting despite everything she has been through, and she has already stolen our hearts.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser so we can reach more people who may be able to help.
Thank you for helping us give this sweet girl the life she deserves. ❤️
I have contacted Ventura County and was notified that if we brought her in we would surrender her and may not be able to adopt her since she is injured. They would provide medical care possibly, not definite.
