Hi, I'm Linda and I'm reaching out for your support to help the Cincinnati Animal CARE Human Society. Specifically, I’m asking for help obtaining medication for this sweet shelter/foster dog, Mermaid. Mermaid came to the shelter Christmas Eve 2025 with a host of medical problems. The shelter staff and medical team quickly went to work getting her stabilized enough to go to a foster home.

Mermaid is a sweet and quiet senior (8 years old) who wants nothing more than a warm bed and family to share her golden years. She has lived peacefully with dogs and cats, and gets along with children.

Mermaid has been diagnosed as having Cushings Disease which requires daily medication. Since starting her meds, her foster parents have noticed positive changes in her physical appearance and behavior. The medications can run $130-$250 per month. We do not want that to be a barrier to adoption to a loving family so we’d like to raise funds to purchase several months of medications that will go to the adoptive family to help with expenses. While she is in foster care, the funds will be used by the shelter to purchase the medication.
