Hi, I am raising funds to help a wonderful refugee family stay in Canada. They came here because they could not practise their faith openly in their home country. They are a wife, husband, and two teen children. I am not disclosing their names or their countries of origin to protect their privacy.

I have been helping this family for many months now to navigate the refugee protection claim process in Canada. It is not easy, even for me! I believe they were failed miserably by their lawyer. We have new counsel but they are now in a very perilous situation. They are facing deportation. It's the 11th hour.

If they are deported, their son will face almost certain conscription. Their daughter won't be able to finish her last year of high school. She also has a medical condition that is not easily managed in her home country. The family may be separated.

In the few years they have been in Canada, they have already made a significant contribution. They have worked hard, volunteered (every member of the family volunteers), learned English, and made many new friends. They have a deep respect for democracy, human rights, and diversity.

I love this family and they love Canada.
