My name is Sharon Maguey, but I like to go by Xhei (pronounced Shay) :) My parents immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico City in the late 1900s and early 2000s to make, me! A 22-year-old, Latine, theater geek, with a passion for humanity, acting, film, and all things art.
If you’ve followed my journey thus far, you’d know that last year I went through the college application process, and audition season. And I’m very proud to share that I’ve committed to the California Institute of the Arts ✿, and will be joining their School of Theater as an acting major!
My school offers dorms to students on a lottery system, and unfortunately last week I found out I was not offered on-campus housing. Now, it’s up to me to look for my own home for the first year of school. Therefore, Im looking to raise $5,000 to secure myself student housing in a local apartment. I face many financial obstacles that put me in a deficit, so I humbly ask for the kindness and aid of my family, friends, and strangers alike.
I dream of creating a successful, fruitful career, and it all starts by having a nurturing space to continue my studies, and come home to at night.
