Hello, I'm Ashishwangh and I volunteer in a shelter in Darıca, Istanbul, Turkey.

Ressources are very scarce.

No medical aid.

I try and do what I can to sterilise, vaccinate and treat dogs who are suffering. For most cases, I spend without asking for exterior help.

In certain cases, I can’t manage alone...

I saw this little angel in a corner, shutting down. Weak as she was, other dogs would boss over her and not let her eat.

So I thought, severe malnutrition, and took her to the vet.

It has turned out to be distemper.

I couldn’t look away, although the initial budget for the first week was 23,500 tl (465 euros/406 pounds).

I decided that this dog's life was worth it. I wanted to give her the gift of life.

Melak, as I've named her - angel in turkish - needs two more weeks of hospitalisation to be out of danger. Every day at the clinic costs 2000 tl (40 euros - £35).

Her survival depends on you.

Depends on whether I succeed in raising funds to go ahead with her hospitalisation.
