Hello, my name is Barbara Kasinger and I am reaching out on behalf of my friend and colleague Amanda McWhorter.

On September 17, Amanda, her husband Gary Higdon and their three daughters tragically lost their home due to a breaker box malfunction which led to a devastating house fire. Thankfully, the family and their two dogs made it out safely and unharmed, but the family has lost nearly all their belongings. They now have the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch.

This fundraiser has been created to help provide the essentials they need as they begin the long and difficult process of rebuilding their lives after this tragic event — clothing, food, furniture, housing costs and other necessities for their family of five.

Our goal is to give the McWhorter-Higdon family a strong foundation to start over after this heartbreaking loss. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will have a meaningful impact and bring this family one step closer to stability and healing.
