Shortly after my birthday in July, a series of events started a catalyst for a very stressful change in our lives.
I have lived at my current house for six years. To say that it has been less than pleasant is an understatement. Typically, my landlord stops by unannounced quite often. Last year, during our yearly inspection, she met our dog Deo. She expressed her fear and displeasure of him but did not state that she had an issue. This year, during my birthday party, she popped up again to do some yard work. Shortly after that, I checked the mail to see that she had served me with an eviction notice if I did not get rid of my dog and said I had broken the lease by having a dog over the 20-pound limit (I’ve been month-to-month for five years). Thankfully, the kindness of my wonderful friends, they have been keeping Deo until I could figure out a solution. I got him registered as my emotional support dog legally, but she says because he dug a hole in the backyard that is destruction of property and she will still evict me.
The story isn’t just about Deo, it’s also about my family. We are currently residing in a two-bedroom household. Thankfully, it does have a basement, but with the kids getting older, we desperately need to get a larger house. I have found a property and I am ready to move forward with the lease besides having the down payment and deposit.
I know this is asking a lot, especially with most people’s financial situations being similar to mine, but it would mean the world to not only me but my family if you could donate and help us out. Getting this house would mean having a space big enough for everyone and we would be able to get one of our family members back permanently.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this would be enough. I genuinely appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this and may you and your family be blessed beyond measure.
