Help this family deal with loss; heal with love.

One of the most horrific and soul-wrenching things that can happen to anyone, at any age, but especially at a young age, is the loss of a parent.

Cole, Lexie and Casper lost their Dad unexpectedly last week, shaking their world to the core and leaving them shocked, lost, and grieving. Instead of welcoming a New Year of promise, they are being forced to say goodbye.

They are learning to bid farewell to the Dad who was known to adore Halloween, and every year since they were tiny, made it an amazing Holiday for them, with the most magical decorations and fun. The guy who taught them to drive, made sure they all had cars to do so. The guy who took them to the beach every single year to hang with a bunch of friends and make memories by the ocean. The guy who they thought would always be there....

Learning to navigate the world and take one step after another minus a Dad, doesn't come easily. What is harder, is when it also means that financial support is impacted, when Mom is already the hardest working person we know, putting in endless hours in an effort to keep her three kids well-nourished, strong and safe.

A heart attack stole the feeling of security and well-being, from this family's life. The realization that they not only have to face the world without him but also have to deal with funeral expenses and other critical items that their Dad paid for, is making things tougher than they need to be.

We know that after Christmas is a tough time to be asking for help. We don't ask for much. We ask that you find whatever you have in your heart, and the smallest amount will be so very much appreciated.

We don't know how to help these kids smile again, just yet. But we can at least help them feel safe in the knowledge that they can continue to have health insurance, that their car insurance will be paid, they can keep their phones on to stay in touch, and that their Mom will be able to put food on the table. While their lives will never be the same again, your kindness will help stabilize things a little and allow them to focus on letting go.

It's hard enough to watch our family struggle with this. Please help ease that struggle by providing some financial peace of mind.
