Imagine slowly losing your eyesight, knowing there may be treatment available, but being unable to afford it.

During my recent trip to Nigeria, I met a beautiful couple whose situation absolutely broke my heart.

The husband has lost his sight, leaving him unable to work and provide for his family. His wife is doing everything she can to support them, but they have no reliable source of income and struggle to afford even the most basic necessities.

They explained that he needs medical treatment, but the cost is simply beyond what they can afford.

Sitting outside their home and hearing everything they’d been through was heartbreaking. Despite their circumstances, they haven’t given up hope.

We surprised them with some money to help get them started, along with a new mattress and essential food supplies. Their emotional reaction was something I’ll never forget.

But I don’t want this to be where their story ends. I’m raising funds to help this couple access medical assessments and possible treatment, improve their living conditions, afford everyday necessities, and finally have some financial security.

They deserve the opportunity to live without constantly worrying about how they’ll survive tomorrow.
