HELP THIS COMMUNITY IN GAMBIA FIGHTING POVERTY

HELP SUKOTO VILLAGE AFFORD FOOD WITH DONKEYS AND RE-BUILD A WELL FOR THEM TO HAVE CLEAN WATER

Peace be upon you.

I’m Soheib, I am representing the Muslim community in Sukoto Village in the Gambia who is seeking your Help for the sake of Allah s.w.t to have access to clean water in the village without having to walk for tens of kilometres to bring water from far distances and mostly it is not clean. The villagers have been using dirty water for a long time and it has caused many diseased and casualties. Let’s help them build this well again.

We will be renovating the school (madrassa) of “Dar Al-Hadith”, where the orphan kids of this community learn Arabic, memorize the Quran, and learn the hadith of our prophet محمد ﷺ.

Sadly, this community also suffers from poverty and lack food supply. The orphan kids are often sick and need medical attention. To cover their needs for food and medical attention they will need to have a stable income to insure everything they will need will be covered. I have talked with the imam in their village “sheikh Imam Sama”, and I have been told that they could work with donkeys, but they are expensive for them to buy. Four to five donkeys could generate enough income for the whole Muslim community to cover all the needs necessary such as food, medical attention, and basic Muslim education.

My name is Soumatia Soheib, I’m born in Algeria, I have lived there and grew up there until my 20s and now I live in Montreal, Canada. I’m finishing my aerospace degree here in the national school of aeronautics in SAINT-HUBERT. I’m a 23-year-old Muslim man who met very kind brothers from Gambia through the social media platform Instagram and step by step I got to know them more and more. The way they are living, the food that they eat and sadly all they can find is a low-quality food that barely keeps them alive… سبحان الله.

I’m new to raising funds, it is my first-time raising funds online and I’m hoping to succeed by the help of Allah s.w.t to help get the voice of our brothers in need out-there. I believe the Ummah can help itself like as if it was a single strong structure joined firmly! and I seek the Help of Allah to accept from all of us and guide us to do good.

The funds will be spent as follows:

• 5 donkeys to cover food, medical attention, and education for the orphans:

each donkey cost around 20,000GMD (438$)

5 donkeys will cost 100,000 GMD (2193$)

Food/medical attention: 2193$

Clean water (well) and School renovation: 7357$

Total cost: 435,500 GMD = 9550$
