From the moment beautiful little Everleigh entered the world, she’s been a fighter. Born with a cleft lip, she underwent major surgery at just three months old — spending days in hospital and showing a strength far beyond her years.

Since that first operation, Everleigh’s journey hasn’t been easy. She has been under the care of craniofacial surgeons, ENT specialists, and other medical professionals since birth. Over her six short years, she has battled countless ear infections, endured multiple rounds of antibiotics, and faced the challenges of hearing loss and delayed speech.

Now in Reception, Everleigh is a bright, curious little girl who loves to learn and make friends. But sadly, due to a build-up of fluid in both ears, she hears the world as if she’s underwater. Imagine trying to learn your letters or understand your teacher when every sound is muffled — that’s what everyday life feels like for her.

After numerous speech, language, and hearing assessments, specialists have confirmed that Everleigh urgently needs grommets in both ears to drain the fluid and restore her hearing. Without this surgery, her speech and hearing could suffer permanent damage, impacting her learning and confidence for years to come.

The heartbreaking reality is that, through the public health system, Everleigh faces a 4–7 year wait for surgery — far too long for a little girl whose development depends on hearing clearly now. Going private would mean she could receive her surgery in just a few months, giving her the best chance to thrive in Year 1 and beyond.
